What Can I Expect?
A Day of Critical Care is designed to provide educational opportunities for health care professionals to gain knowledge and develop strategies that can be applied in the critical care setting. Through discussions and informative lectures by national and local faculty, participants will gain insight into the health care needs of critical care patients. This knowledge-based activity is intended to meet the needs of physicians, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, and other providers who care for patients in a critical care setting.

Learning Objectives: • Review the evidence that supports the use of ultrasound for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in critically ill patients. • Review antibiotic timeliness and utilization and their effect on patient outcomes in septic shock. • Examine the importance of appropriate nutritional support for the critically ill ICU patient. • Discuss the risks, benefits, and process of care issues related to early mobilization in mechanically ventilated patients. • Discuss the risks and benefits of imaging in the pediatric neuro-trauma patient.
