Description: This course is one of ten in the School Mental Health Training Series: Addressing Barriers to Learning. You will examine concepts in behavioral technology and their application. You will learn potential misperceptions and misapplications of behavioral principles and examine accurate information about behavioral techniques, and how to use functional behavioral assessment to better understand why a behavior occurs and how to change it.
Learning Objectives: - Identify some common misconceptions about and misapplications of behavioral principles behavioral intervention - Define types of consequences and the key role they play in behavioral intervention - Use anecdotal recordings, ABC profiles and functional behavioral analysis to identify solutions for problem behavior - Examine positive behavioral intervention in the classroom
